Abstract. – In his account about a head found on the Capitole, Arnobius identifies it with that of Aulus from Vulci and he names among his sources a certain Fabius, usually identified as Fabius Pictor. The aim of this paper is to show that such identification is unlikely, and it makes the alternative proposal that Fabius Rusticus is the source.
