Résumé. – Cette contribution identifie les questions de l’accès au savoir et de la qualité du savoir lui-même comme un nœud décisif dans le Bellum Iugurthinum, qui offre une perspective importante et jusqu’à présent largement négligée sur la qualité du projet historiographique de Salluste.
Abstract. – This contribution identifies the issues of access to knowledge and the quality of knowledge itself as a key theme in the Bellum Jugurthinum, hence offering a significant and hitherto largely neglected perspective on the quality of Sallust’s historiographical project.
