Résumé. –L’attribution à Octave du titre d’Augustus signe, d’une certaine façon, le passage de la République à l’Empire. Il s’agira ici de montrer que la date du 16 janvier a été délibérément choisie par le fils adoptif de César pour des raisons astrologiques, en lien avec son signe zodiacal de prédilection, le Capricorne.
Abstract. –The attribution of the title of Augustus to Octavius illustrates in a way the passing from republic to empire. This article is concerned with demonstrating that the date of January 16th was deliberately chosen by Caesar’s adopted son for astrological reasons, in connection with Capricorn, his preferred star sign.
